I normally don't list manufacturers' sites under the info page, but Brooks has taken such a grass roots approach to running that their web site is a wealth of information for runners- medical, techincal, event listings and more. They have a great e-mail newsletter that you can sign up for as well.
This is a somewhat quirky web site that is a bit hard to navigate, but is filled with a wealth of information about track and field events all over the country. If you are interested in all comers' meets or masters' track events you will find a wealth of information here. There's also good info on road runs and trail runs. Just be patient and wade through it.
A web site dedicated not just to athletes (lots of runner members) but to promoting fitness over 50. The web site has lots of great information and their quarterly newsletter is chock full of articles about fitness, medical aspects of fitness and inspirational stories. Well worth joining. My dad (79 years old and just did 5:04 at Portland!) turned me on to the 50 Plus group.
Kind of a combination of high tech orienteering and the scavenger hunt, this new "event" is quite unique, and if you own a GPS unit, you may find this to be a lot of fun! Their slogan is: "The sport where YOU are the search engine".
