New Shoe Reviews
Brooks
Addiction 9
The Addiction continues to offer maximum support, widths from narrow to extra wide and a great fit. The Addiction 9 brings an updated look (we think it's quite good looking) and Brooks' Bio-Mogo which allows the shoe to decompose in a landfill in about 20 years rather than the typical 1000 years!  We always hold our breath when this shoe changes as there are so many customers who love it and we'd hate to see a misstep, so to speak, on Brook's part.  Fortunately, that does not seem to be the case. It's another successful modest update in the Brooks' tradition of incremental change.  The$100 price remains the same, and the men's black version (sorry ladies - no black version yet) continues. We're in stock on most sizes now.
A word about our shoe pictures: You may ask why we show the medial side of the shoe where all other stores show the lateral side. That's because most stores do what the manufacturers do - show you how other people see you in the shoe (i.e. looks is what matters). We show the medial side because that is where the support features are usually found. We want you to see what WE look for when we test shoes, not what "looks good on your feet"... That's why runners and walkers depend on us for the best help in selecting just the right shoe for their individual running or walking needs.

Adrenaline ASR 7
For a number of years, I was tooling around the San Gabriels in my Adrenaline road shoes because they fit me so well and felt so good - they made a pretty lousy trail shoe, however.  Then along came the Adrenaline ASR and I was in heaven!  The Adrenaline 7 lags one midsole version behind the road Adrenaline, so the tooling on the ASR 7 is from the Adrenaline 9, but there really aren't any down sides to that. It's fitting great and they will be adding a men's EE and a women's D later this summer, giving the wider foot a great trail option!  The price is $105.
Nike
Lunar Glide
The Glide is a full on trainer with good durability, good cushioning and light weight.  What makes this a unique shoe is its innovative midsole technology known as Dynamic Support that adapts to a runner's gait to provide the appropriate amount of cushioining and support.  Dynamic Support is one of the new technologies that is pushing the frontiers of shoe technology, allowing shoes to actually adapt to different running styles and biomechanical requirements automatically.  The lines are blurring between "cushioned", "support" and "motion control" shoes as this technology is developed and appears in more shoes. Lunar Glides are available now in men's and women's models at $100.00. On top fo that, they are sharp looing shoes, too.   The color updates are frequent on this shoe, so the colors we have in stock will  change regularly, so be flexible on the color!

Konejo
Okay, so you are asking "K Swiss??? Since when do they make runninng shoes?".  They have been working on these new shoes for some time now, and during their development, I must say they visited us more than once seeking input on the design, the fit and the function.  I am pleased to report that their mainlne indtroductory models, the stability oriented Konejo and the cushioned Keahou are as good as anything out their in their classes.  The fit is great, the feel is great and the ride is great.  The shoes have been well received and K Swiss is now the official shoe sponsor of the LA Marathon. The Konejo features a triple density EVA GUIDEGLIDE midsole for a smoother heel-to-toe transition, superior cushioning, and stability. Both the sockliner and midsole feature SUPERFOAM for longer lasting and springier cushioning. The heel crash pad features K Swiss' Si-18 gel tech for shock absorption. The outsole includes Aosta II rubber for superior durability and traction. The upper is constructed of synthetic leather and air mesh and features a FLOW COOL SYSTEM for increased breathability. It's comfortable, supportive and fits well (no widths available, however). The price is $100 and is in stock now.

Lunar Racer
The Lunar Racer is the surprisingly light weight and supportive version of the popular Lunar Glide.  The midsole is one of the new generation of midsoles that is moving towards being auto adaptive to different types of running mechanics, which is what makes this shoe surprisingly supportive for the amount of weight you'll strap on!   Priced at $100 it is a good racing shoe with cross over for those fast paced workouts.

Grid Stab CS
The name "Grid Stab" goes back a VERY long ways, and the classic Stab of a dozen years ago still has runners pining after it. While the intervening models offered the same great stability of the classic Stab, the fit of these follow ons was generally narrower, particularly in the toebox.  Now, don't get your hopes up - the new Stab CS is NOT a resurrected Classic.  However, the narrow, pointy toe box is GONE and the shoe rides like a dream.  The CS is a great choice for the overpronator and competes well against the likes of the Brooks Addiction, the New Balance 850 and the Asics Foundation. The price has bumped up to $115, but the support and the feel are great. Both men's and women's models are available in medium and wide widths (alas, no narrows).

Air Structure Triax 13
The Air Structure has been the "go to" stability shoe for Nike for some time now. The new AST 13 brings some modest updates, including a more supportive arch panel on the women's version (not on the men's for some reason).  The only downside to the new version is that it is quite a bit wider, especially on the women's model.  The last few versions had a long last produced a great fitting competitor in this category, but, alas, that improvement has been lost.  There is also a more brightly colored one time issue "breatheable" version of the shoe (no widths available) built on the same midsole platform, but with a lighter weight more ventilated upper. Both models are $100.
Adidas Tempo Series
Adidas Racing Shoes
The Adidas Tempo Series is a group of shoes that includes the Adizero Mana, Adizero Tempo and the Adizero Rocket. The Mana and the Tempo are available in men's and women's versions.  The Tempo is a light, moderately supportive trainer/long distance racer. It's a good choice for upspeed workouts and long distance racing and offers excellent weight, balance and shock absorption without giving up all the support. The Mana is even lighter, but could still be used for some training and for racing.  Both the Mana and the Tempo are available in men's and women's models.  The men's only Rocket is a full on racer with a very low profile.  The Tempo is priced at $100, the Mana at $80 and the Rocket at $85.
